CallRupee ("the app", "we", "us") is a phone dialer and calling app for Android that also lets you earn coins for calls and rewarded videos, redeemable for cash. This policy explains what data the app accesses and collects, why, and how it is used.
CallRupee requests the following device permissions to function as a phone dialer and in-call experience:
We use your phone number to verify your identity and as your account ID. A device identifier and a session token are generated and stored on our servers so you stay signed in and so we can keep your wallet tied to your phone and device.
For calls that qualify for rewards, we send the number called, the contact name (if saved on your device), and the call duration to our servers to calculate the coins you've earned. Your full call log and contacts are not uploaded — only these specific fields for qualifying calls.
You can unlock your daily call reward by watching either an embedded YouTube video or an AdMob rewarded video ad — whichever is offered. Video playback is governed by Google's Privacy Policy; we record whether you've watched a rewarded video today and which of these methods you used. The reward screen may also show an optional link or button to an external site — tapping it is your choice, opens outside the app, and is never required to earn the reward.
CallRupee is free and supported by ads. We show small banner ads, in-feed native ads, occasional full-screen interstitial ads at natural breaks between screens, and optional rewarded video ads you can choose to watch for extra coins. Ads are never shown during a phone call or on the in-call and post-call screens, and how often interstitial ads appear is capped.
Ads are served by Google AdMob, which also acts as a mediator that lets other ad networks compete to fill each ad slot. The networks currently integrated are:
To choose and measure ads, these partners may receive your advertising ID, coarse device and network information, and events such as which ads were shown or tapped, each under its own privacy policy. This sharing is governed by the consent choice described below.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, a Google-certified consent prompt is shown before any personalised ads are served, and you can accept or decline. Where you decline, ads are limited to non-personalised ads where required. Elsewhere, ads are shown without this prompt. You can reset your device advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation at any time from Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
When you request a cash withdrawal, the UPI ID or bank account number and receiver name you enter are sent to and stored on our servers so we can process your payout. Withdrawals are reviewed and paid out manually — we do not use a third-party payment gateway, and we do not collect any other banking credentials (such as passwords or PINs).
Call log, contact, and phone-state data is processed on your device to power core dialer features (recent calls, caller ID, in-call screen). Data described above that is sent to our servers is used only to operate your account, wallet, and cash withdrawals. This data is not sold, and is not shared with third parties except as required to provide the app's core functionality (e.g. the Android telephony system, processing a withdrawal) or as described below.
Call and contact data accessed by the app stays on your device and in your Google account (for synced contacts), governed by Android's own storage. Uninstalling the app does not delete your device's call log or contacts, since those are owned by the operating system.
Server-side data — your wallet balance, coin-earning history, and session data — is kept while your account is active. If you request account deletion (see our Delete Account page), cash withdrawal records are retained for 90 days for fraud prevention and accounting/legal compliance, then deleted.
You can revoke any permission at any time from Android Settings → Apps → CallRupee → Permissions. Revoking a permission may disable the related feature (e.g. revoking Contacts disables caller-name lookup). Default-dialer status is the exception — since the app functions as a dialer, it's required to keep using the app, and the app will prompt you to restore it if it's ever revoked.
CallRupee's calling features are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. The app is not child-directed, and ads are not personalised for any user signalled as being under the age of consent. The wallet, coin-earning, and cash withdrawal features require you to be 18 years or older, consistent with the eligibility requirements for holding a UPI ID or bank account in India.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
